Contact professional service providers

If the deceased had been working with service professionals in any capacity, notify them of the death.

This will help manage expectations about any upcoming appointments, recurring bills, or outstanding invoices.

More importantly, they may be able to give the Surviving Family critical end-of-life documents that reference Final Disposition, the deceased's Assets, debts or benefits needed when paying for a Funeral, or when settling the Estate.

Examples of providers include, but are not limited to:

  • Lawyers
  • Accountants
  • Financial advisors
  • Doctors
  • Dentists
  • Home healthcare services
  • Adult facilities
