Graveside Service

A graveside service is a ceremony held at the Gravesite of a deceased person as they are being prepared for their Burial.

This type of service is most often held at a Cemetery, though it can also be held for Cremated remains.

A graveside service occurs either after a Funeral Service, or as its own stand-alone service, where the body will be buried, either in a Grave or above-ground Mausoleum.

Religious affiliation typically guides the traditions and customs of a graveside service, and often there may be readings, prayers, music, and a Eulogy offered by a Funeral Director, religious leader or member of the Surviving Family.
