About

My passion is in healing work with intergenerational and intercultural trauma, family-of-origin pain, relationships with a narcissistic or borderline loved one, grief and loss, and different parts of your identities that may feel abandoned/rejected and conflicted. My style is holistic, direct, nurturing. I will challenge you in a loving and curious way, and hold you accountable. I will encourage play and experimentation to help empower you in creative ways. We will engage in deep introspective work as well as practical skills. I have learned what it means to create a safe space for myself; hold feelings of self-doubt and insecurity; work through confusion, mistakes, uncontrollable forces and change; practice being accommodating and assertive; and be self-sufficient and ask for support. I understand the significance of duality. I am constantly inspired by people from different walks of life and embrace the opportunity to learn about diverse worldviews. I am affirming and culturally responsive. I strongly believe that we can contribute to one another's growth as we are all works in progress! I integrate Psychodynamic Therapy, Parts Work, Trauma-informed work, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples. Other specialties include Somatic and Mindfulness interventions, and Sandplay Therapy, so if you've tried traditional talk therapy and would like to discover more, please reach out! I offer a complimentary 15-min phone consultation to experience our fit!

I am a first-generation immigrant, AAPI, Taiwanese, bilingual and multicultural Psychotherapist. Traveling independently for educational purposes has been both a privilege as well as a hardship. I have lived and studied in Taiwan, Malaysia, China, UK, Singapore, France, and now the US! I hold an Ed.M. in Mental Health Counseling and an M.A. in Psychological Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University. I am Narcan certified. I have also received a credential of Diagnostic Privilege. I have extensive experience working in various settings at different capacities, including at a couples research lab, psychiatric inpatient unit, intensive rehabilitation and recovery outpatient program, and a community clinic. In addition to being a Bilingual Psychotherapist, I have held different roles, including Clinical Supervisor, Presenter and Researcher (published on Emotional Pain Mediates the Link Between Preoccupied Attachment and Non-Suicidal Self-Injury in High Suicide Risk Psychiatric Inpatients; and Construal Level and Conflict Resolution in Romantic Relationships), Advocate, and Volunteer. I also collaborated with the Soar Over Hate organization on their “Heal from Hate” Project and was invited as a Guest Speaker at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai to educate about the impact of racial trauma in the recent epidemic in xenophobia on mental and physical health. Prior to the mental health field journey, I was invested in Political Science and Public Policy. I held roles within the United Nations in collaboration with development and leadership programs and non-governmental organizations, to address empowerment and advocacy in various sectors for the underserved and underrepresented population. I was privileged to attend global summits in which various international ambassadors and expertise in their field engaged in inspiring and passionate debates and dialogues. These experiences have helped to provide a more in-depth lens in exploring and navigating nuances of misunderstood and marginalized identities.
