What types of services do you provide?

End of Life Doula Services. Gathering. Supporting. Completing. Intentional & Intuitive Companionship. Life Review & Legacy Projects. Nesting Design. End Days Support. Early Grief Reprocessing. Just one consultation can change the way you look at death.

What should clients know about your pricing(e.g., discounts, fees, packages)?

Reasonable, hourly rate of 65$/hour for most services. I support my community with volunteer hours and reduced rates. Contact me, or see my website, bziemba.net, for more information.

What is your typical process for working with a new client?

We begin by getting to know each other, sitting down to learn your story so we can decide how I can best support you. Sometimes, a single consultation gives the client enough perspective and ideas and they can and their loved ones can take it from there. Sometimes more support is desired, and then we walk, hand in hand, in whatever way suits you best.

What are some of the ways you have supported someone at end-of-life?

I have had the honor of sitting bedside on the final days for various clients, providing a calm presence, peaceful rituals, modalities to ease anxieties, and support for loved ones. I have had the honor of supporting a client with terminal cancer, visiting weekly to support and encourage her and her husband, provide him with respite care and her with companionship. I have had the honor of guiding a client through conversations about death and dying, leading to a Life Review to define her Legacy. I have had the honor of accompanying an nonagenarian bedside in her final days and used guided imagery to carry her to her lakeside home to ease her anxiety and calm her spirit. I have had the honor of becoming a resource for information and literature about the end of life for clients and friends, especially those supporting their elderly parents.

What advice would you give someone looking to hire an end-of-life doula?

Speak to the Doula and ask all your questions, get a sense of their personality before committing. Ask if they are Certified and/or have experience in the field. Ask for references.

What questions should clients think through before talking to doulas?

Would I like someone to walk alongside me/us in this sacred time? What are the benefits of having a third party walk hand in hand with me on this journey? What do I value? Which services speak to me the most? (This is all about individual care.) What types of services would do me the most good? What do I, or my loved one, have the time, energy, and resources to pursue?

What populations are you best suited to serve?

All people deserve care and support at the end of life. I am best suited to clients who are willing to explore their final journey and make death a part of their life. LGBTQ Ally Diversity and Equity Ally All means all!

Do you offer any physical modalities or specialty training?

Tai Chi and Qi Kung practitioner.

Do you offer any other services beyond end-of-life doula support (e.g. advanced care planning, paralegal, legacy services, chaplaincy services)?

My husband offers bright, modern, life size portraits of loved ones.

Do you work as part of a collaborative or independently?

I am an independent Doula, but mutual aid is important for community, so I am currently working to establish a local Collective.

Are you willing to work remotely?

While I prefer in person work to be able to learn from each others presences, I am available for remote work.
