I am passionate about end-of-life especially the grief process. As a young teacher, I decided to volunteer for the local hospice and it truly changed my life. I learned to live through the dying and those grieving! As a professional educator, professor, and musician, I use various techniques with my grief clients that they choose.

I love working with clients and it is an honor to walk beside them on their grief journey. Listening to their stories, their fears and frustrations, their joy and even their sadness truly makes me humbled. Sessions may include music, meditation, prayers, and other strategies that the client would like to include.

Education

My degrees are from Western Michigan University, Indiana University, and Ball State University in music and education. Additionally, I've been working as an end-of-life companion for many years and was certified by INELDA. I am a certified life and grief coach.

What types of services do you provide?

Currently I offer grief coaching sessions along with music healing sessions. My website has additional information.

What should clients know about your pricing(e.g., discounts, fees, packages)?

I do offer discounts on packages and a reduced rate especially for parents who have lost children. Grief work is incredibly important and it is important for folks to know they are not alone.

What is your typical process for working with a new client?

First, there is a free 20-minute meeting usually done via zoom and sometimes in person. This is the opportunity to know if we would work well together. It is also a time for me to hear your journey and where you are at.

What are some of the ways you have supported someone at end-of-life?

Most of my work, currently, is with the grieving and those at the end of life journey with music, listening, prayers, meditations, guided imagery, etc. I have sat and held the hand of those dying alone. It is an honor to do this sacred work.

What advice would you give someone looking to hire an end-of-life doula?

Look for the passion and compassion. It is a very stressful time and a doula can be an amazing and important person for you.

What questions should clients think through before talking to doulas?

Consider the goals in terms of what you would like the doula participate with whether it be advance directives, help you plan the service, be there at the transitioning to spirit, and even walk with you on the journey of grief.

What populations are you best suited to serve?

I'm willing to serve where I am called.

Do you offer any physical modalities or specialty training?

Not at this time.

Do you offer any other services beyond end-of-life doula support (e.g. advanced care planning, paralegal, legacy services, chaplaincy services)?

Advanced care planning, legacy work, music, and much more. I do have my license to perform weddings here in Hawaii and also will do memorial services. Moreover, I am a grief coach.

Do you work as part of a collaborative or independently?

Independently

Are you willing to work remotely?

Absolutely. In fact, most of my grief coaching clients have been online and I have worked with folks worldwide.

Any person or groups that would need the services of an end-of-life companion or a grief coach.
