My process is to meet with you and assess what services you and your family want or need, present things I am able to help you and your family with and together we determine how I can best serve you. Terminal illness is a deeply personal thing and my job is to assist you in this journey in your own personal way.

Education

After 30+ years working in Public Service, Accounting and Real Estate I took an early retirement in 2008 and started volunteering for the North Hawaii Hospice where I was moved by how many people die without enough family support and assistance and after several moves and working with several Hospice organizations I eventually was trained and then Certified with INELDA as an End-of-Life Doula in 2015 when I moved to the Central California Coast.

What types of services do you provide?

Death Planning - which may include assisting you with completing paperwork you may still need to get in order, Advanced Health Care Directives; POLST; Powers of Attorney; etc. Funeral or memorial planning; obituary writing; making a vigil plan; planning for disposition of remains; etc Planning for and supporting you in your journey should you choose Medical Aide in Dying (MAID) and/or Voluntarily Stopping Eating and Drinking (VSED). Legacy projects Sitting Vigil with you (or you and your family) when you are actively dying. A listening ear and heart should you want someone to talk to or walk with you on your journey.

What should clients know about your pricing(e.g., discounts, fees, packages)?

Available for a free consultation in person (SLO County) or by phone for up to an hour. I work with a group of volunteer Doulas through Hospice SLO County (HSLO) a Volunteer, Holistic Hospice and the services are free through HSLO. These services are available to anyone with a life-threatening illness, even if you do not yet qualify for Medical Hospice Services. We also provide additional End-of-Life (EOL) Support if you are already involved with a Medical Hospice. I am also affiliated with a number of private EOL Doulas in the area if it is a better fit for you to pay for services.

Do you offer any other services beyond end-of-life doula support (e.g. advanced care planning, paralegal, legacy services, chaplaincy services)?

Yes, but I consider all of these things part of EOL doula support.

Do you work as part of a collaborative or independently?

I work as a part of the Hospice SLO End-of-Life Doula Team. Often times, one on one with clients and also as a part of rotating shifts of Doulas during the last days and hours of life.

Are you willing to work remotely?

Yes
