Grace B.

Kacie was absolutely invaluable to my entire family during the end of my fathers life. Her nursing knowledge and the education she is able to provide made it an easy transition for all. I will, and do, recommend her to everyone!

Kacie assisted my family through the end of my wife’s life. My wife had Alzheimer’s disease and struggled with it for many years. We needed help way before we qualified for hospice, and this is where Kacie was a life saver. She helped us with everything from education to medication management and that’s just the start of where her helpfulness comes in. When my wife was actively dying, it was so hard on me and the whole family. Kacie supported my wife and our entire family through my wife’s death. She died a beautiful and comfortable death because of Kacie. Hospice was helpful, but they’re nothing compared to the support we received from Kacie.

We hired Kacie to help during the end of my mothers life. Kacie was an invaluable tool during this time and I don’t know how we would’ve done it without her. She provides an immense layer of support that is unmatched. The education and support she provided helped us to ensure my mom died peacefully. Kacie became a part of our family during this time, and I cannot recommend her enough.

What types of services do you provide?

I provide in person and virtual services helping my clients to plan for the end of their life. I also offer Death Doula services including legacy projects and bedside vigil services. I am also available to my clients 24/7 via phone/email.

What should clients know about your pricing(e.g., discounts, fees, packages)?

I offer varying packages that can be custom tailored to fit each persons situation. Everyone end of life is different, and every death is it’s own journey. My varying packages offer minimal to maximum support during these times, based on a clients needs.

What is your typical process for working with a new client?

I typically spend 1-6 hours a week with my clients depending on their needs. We work through any fears or anxieties they may be having as well as discuss the future. I pride myself on helping my clients to develop their own “death plan”, and helping see that plan through. I also provide education and emotional support to all loved ones involved. I am available to the families I work with 24/7 via phone/email.

What are some of the ways you have supported someone at end-of-life?

I am able to increase safety at end of life, as well as decrease fear and a anxiety. I provide education on what is coming so my clients can be prepared. I also work with my clients to develop their own “death plan”, similar to a birth plan but on the other end of life.

What advice would you give someone looking to hire an end-of-life doula?

Don’t hesitate. Hospice is always helpful at the end of life, but they provide a very minimal amount of support. Hospice can help the body physically pass on, but a Death Doula works with the soul.

What questions should clients think through before talking to doulas?

What they want the end of their life to look like. A Death Doula can help make that possible.

What populations are you best suited to serve?

I do not discriminate. I serve every and all populations. People of all colors, shapes, sizes, sexualities and genders!

Do you offer any physical modalities or specialty training?

Yes, I am a Registered Nurse. As a Nurse, I’ve worked with clients at the end of life for over 12 years. I worked the frontlines during Covid and helped well over 100 people to pass as comfortably and safely.

Do you offer any other services beyond end-of-life doula support (e.g. advanced care planning, paralegal, legacy services, chaplaincy services)?

I offer end of life guidance and support. I am able to help clients connect with attorneys, realtors, movers, hospice, caregivers, reiki practitioners and anyone else they may need during this transition in life.

Do you work as part of a collaborative or independently?

I own my own practice as of now, but I am growing quickly! I anticipate I will need to bring on more Death Doulas soon.

Are you willing to work remotely?

I offer in-person and virtual packages. I work with clients all over the world!

I work with clients at the end of life, usually before they qualify for hospice. I work with them through the end of their life. Whether they are aging gracefully or have received a terminal diagnosis. Being an RN, I can assist with everything end of life related, including assistance with hospice and additional caregivers.
