I have been in the field for over thirty five years. I am very passionate about the concepts and process of death and dying because it is a sacred stage of life, often feared and rejected instead of it being embraced and cherished. Together we explore your thoughts, feelings and concerns about your personal journey of dying. I am trained as a death doula through INELDA and have years of both professional and personal experiences of death and dying. I look forward to being on your journey.

I serve as a guide through an individual's final journey though sitting with people listening to and problem solving together their issues. I thoroughly enjoy listening to others and making you feel heard, understood and cared for through compassion and grace. It has been reported my direct approach and problem solving skills has supported the the client in living their authentic life. Success is defined by the client not the death doula so it can look differently for each person.

What types of services do you provide?

Preparation for the biggest journey in life, the dying journey enables one to feel more prepared, less afraid and navigate to a place of acceptance and peace when the time comes. The dying journey, whether at home, in a hospital or facility, a death doula can provide guidance along the way. A death doula will advocate for your wishes and activate your end of life plan while encouraging your circle of loved ones to be present and participate in life's most sacred journey. Integration - The early stages after a big loss can be overwhelming and a struggle to navigate due to the complexities of grief. It takes time for the mind, body and heart to find harmony. Grief sessions with a doula help serve to witness and process your loss. A loss cab change you forever so we explore the tools that will support your journey with grief, including self-care activities, ritual and ceremony to honor your loved one and find meaning in their life and death.

What should clients know about your pricing(e.g., discounts, fees, packages)?

My service as a Death Doula to the dying person is free. For those family members requiring grief counseling sessions, the fee is 150.00/hour.

What is your typical process for working with a new client?

Initial meeting will review and complete a client information data sheet, review and discuss client expectations of the Death Doula and review roles and responsibilities of the Death Doula. Answer any questions.

What are some of the ways you have supported someone at end-of-life?

I have had the honor of supporting the dying by completing a legacy project including facilitating recordings of life stories to be shared later with their grieving family members. I have facilitated end-of-life projects including assisting in organizing family recipes. I have sat with the dying person who wanted to engage in an end-of-life review including life successes and regrets and processing them together.

What advice would you give someone looking to hire an end-of-life doula?

An end-of-life doula is not the same thing as a Hospice nurse. Death doula's do not administer medications, or provide medical advise. Death doula's assist with being with the dying person by listening to them, complete any end-of-life projects, examples include recording life stories for grieving loved ones can listen to later or completing a house project such as cleaning out items.

What questions should clients think through before talking to doulas?

What is their purpose in having a Death Doula? What expectations do you have of the Death Doula?

What populations are you best suited to serve?

The populations I serve include adults over 18 and specifically Veterans.

Do you offer any physical modalities or specialty training?

I am a trained grief therapist and have worked with both the dying person and their families before, during and after the one passes.

Do you offer any other services beyond end-of-life doula support (e.g. advanced care planning, paralegal, legacy services, chaplaincy services)?
