What should clients know about your pricing(e.g., discounts, fees, packages)?
First visit is free. Pricing is on a sliding scale. Some services are covered as volunteer time.
What is your typical process for working with a new client?
First visit is a free consultation to ensure my services will meet your needs. After you and your loved one's needs are discussed, a flexible working plan is put in place.
What are some of the ways you have supported someone at end-of-life?
Being present at end-of-life to facilitate coordination of care.
Interact with hospice to ensure a smooth care plan.
Available to patient and family to provide emotional support.
Providing alternative services such as transportation, errands, cooking, cleaning, yard work, correspondence, etc.
What advice would you give someone looking to hire an end-of-life doula?
I encourage everyone to discuss end-of-life care options. Everyone's final chapter is different and fluid. Discussing options provides peace of mind for the client and their family. Education and active listening are key to a good death.
What questions should clients think through before talking to doulas?
What am I looking for from my doula?
How accessible do I need them to be?
What are my top priorities?
What populations are you best suited to serve?
My education, personal, and work history have provided me with opportunities to engage with and care for persons and families in a multitude of settings. Listening to personal stories is a special skill that I have developed over the years.
Do you work as part of a collaborative or independently?
I work independently.
