What is your typical process for working with a new client?
If it is not in person, I like to have a zoom meeting initially so that I can see the person and hear them.
I listen to the expectation & needs. I come back with suggestions of best course of action and what the fees would be.
What are some of the ways you have supported someone at end-of-life?
I have supported as the lone person there advocating for the dying person and communiating with hospice.
Play favorite Music, Scriptures, etc.. for the dying person
I have supported as a team member with family members and kept everyone on course,
I have supported in small ways that a family or the dying person needed, even if it is just bringing food and checking in.
I have done Reiki, Guided Imagery, Hypnosis for Comfort and Pain Control, Created a Legacy Project, offered Respite for a Family Member and sat in while they rested.
Communicated with Hospice if it's an "at Home Death".
Kept the area neat and beautiful, brought flowers, etc.

What questions should clients think through before talking to doulas?
What is your availability?
What would you recommend for shepherding us through the death? How would it start?
How can you help through the grief process?
Can you help with a home funeral? Are you familiar with the local laws and funeral homes?
Are you an advocate and advisro for our choices throughout the death process?
What populations are you best suited to serve?
35 and up
Do you offer any physical modalities or specialty training?
Reiki, Medical Hypnosis, Pain Management, Medical procedure pre-prep and post.
