Green Burial

A type of Final Disposition that aims to minimize the environmental impact of the Burial process.

The goal of a green burial is to allow a deceased person's body to return to the earth naturally, without harmful chemicals or non-biodegradable materials, and to promote conservation and restoration of natural ecosystems.

In a green burial, the deceased's body is prepared without Embalming fluids, and buried in a biodegradable Casket, such as wicker or bamboo.

Green burials also typically avoid the use of concrete vaults, which are used in traditional burials to prevent the ground from settling, but can contribute to soil contamination.

Also known as a Natural Burial.
