About the Calculator

The Funeral Cost Calculator is a free tool designed to bring transparency to funeral pricing. We believe that families deserve to know the costs of funeral services upfront, without having to visit multiple funeral homes or make uncomfortable phone calls during a difficult time.

Our platform aggregates General Price Lists (GPLs) from funeral homes across the United States. By federal law, funeral homes are required to provide these price lists to anyone who asks. We've collected them and made them searchable and comparable in one place.

You can select a funeral home in your area, browse their available services and products, and build a custom quote. This helps you understand costs, compare options, and plan ahead with confidence.

Key Features:

  • Search funeral homes by location
  • Browse actual pricing from their General Price Lists
  • Build custom quotes with multiple services and products
  • Save, print, or email quotes for your records

However, prices can change over time, and additional fees may apply depending on your specific situation. We recommend confirming current prices directly with the funeral home.

We're constantly adding new funeral homes to our database. If your preferred funeral home isn't listed, you can contact them directly and request their General Price List (GPL) — they're legally required to provide one. You can also reach out to us and we'll work on adding them.
Yes! Once you've built a quote, you can email it to yourself or anyone else, or print it for your records. The email and print options are available in the Quote Summary panel after you've selected at least one item.
